Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Chhola Mandir police will record statements of the kin of the girl who committed suicide by consuming poison on Thursday. Further action will be taken on the basis of evidence found during investigation, the police said.
According to reports, Kutir Nagar resident Sakshi Nirala was a BTech student. Sakshi consumed some poisonous substance on Thursday evening and died while undergoing treatment at Hamidia Hospital.
Activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal staged protest at Chhola Mandir police station alleging that the girl was trapped in ‘Love Jihad’ and was forced to commit suicide. They produced a video of the girl which was shot before she committed suicide.
In the video the girl claimed that she was friends with a youth of another community who took loan in her name. She said that the youth and a woman used to torture and exploit her following which she had decided to end her life.
TI at Chhola Mandir police station Suresh Nagar said statements of the girl’s kin will soon be recorded and the persons named in the video will be traced and rounded up for questioning. Further action will be taken following investigation, he added.
