Bhopal: Federation of MP Chamber of Commerce and Industry proposes Drone Industry Facilitation Centre
The proposal was placed at the workshop on opportunities for MSME in drone sector on Wednesday. India’s drone sector will achieve turnover of Rs 15,000 crore by 2026. India's share in global drone market stands at 4.25%.
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Federation of MP Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FMPCCI) organised a kick-off workshop here on Wednesday on opportunities for state’s MSMEs in drone sector. This included possibilities for manufacture of drone components.
Considering the vast growth potential of drone industry and its wide-ranging application in agriculture, mining, forestry, revenue, monitoring of infra projects, security and other sectors, RS Goswami, president, FMPCCI, proposed to government that a Drone Industry Facilitation Centre (DIFC) should be opened at Federation’s office, which will inform young professionals, investors and MSME units about government schemes, technology, service providers, pilot training institutes and other drone related activities.
Praveen Acharya, secretary, FMPCCI, said that moulding industry specially plastic moulding units of MP have ample of opportunity in the drone industry.
“As per estimate of Civil Aviation Ministry, India’s drone sector is likely to achieve a total turnover of Rs 15,000 crore by 2026. At present, the total global drone market is US$ 28 billion of which India accounts for only 4.25%,” said Yashraj Sunhare, CEO, Jarvice Labs.
The Union government released a Drone Policy this year to boost the sector with an objective to make India a global hub for drones. The drone sector has huge potential for generating employment. As per one estimate, India will need approximately one lakh drone pilots in coming years, Yashraj Sunhare added.
The workshop organised by FMPCCI was addressed by drone manufacturers and start-ups such as Vibhu Tripathi, co-founder, Vizzbee and Lalit Nagapurkar of Soaring Aerotech Pvt Ltd (Prestige Group).
The objective of the workshop was to provide a platform to MSME units of the state to interact with drone company owners for exploring possibilities of association for growth of the sector in Madhya Pradesh.
