Bhopal Auto-Rickshaw Driver Held For Abducting, Raping Minor On The Pretext Of Dropping Her To School

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): An auto-rickshaw driver who allegedly abducted a minor girl student and raped her on pretext of dropping her to school, was arrested by Indore police on Wednesday. The incident came to light when the girl got pregnant, police said.

Following which, the Nishatpura police on Wednesday arrested him.

Police said that the victim is a student of class nine and resides in a locality under Nishatpura police station. An auto-rickshaw driver Anil, aka Sonu Manua, befriended the girl on pretext of dropping her to school.

It is alleged that on March 8, Anil abducted the girl in his auto-rickshaw and took her to a room on Jail Road in Karod area where he raped her. He then issued threats to the girl and raped her on multiple occasions.

Some days back, the victim’s grandmother took her to a doctor when she suddenly fell ill.

She was shocked when the doctors revealed that the minor girl was pregnant during a medical examination. Acting swiftly, police officials said that an FIR was registered based on the complaint of the victim. The accused has been arrested and sent to jail. Further investigation into the case is underway.
