3 Paddlers From Madhya Pradesh Win Gold At Hong Kong Tourney

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is celebrating a proud moment as three athletes from the MP Sports Academy clinched gold medals in the ongoing Asian Cup Canoe Competition in Hong Kong.
Himanshu Tandon (21) and Akshit Baroi (20) won gold in the Under-23 Kayaking 1000 metres and 500 metres events, respectively, while Arvind Verma (19) bagged gold in the 500 metres Canoeing event.
Himanshu and Akshit, both from Bhopal, have been training at the academy for the past eight years under the guidance of their coach, Pijush Baroi. Arvind, who hails from Sehore, has been honing his skills at the academy for six years. Coach Baroi expressed immense pride in their accomplishments, highlighting their dedication and the years of hard work leading to this international success.

Meanwhile, back in Bhopal, the ITF $30K tennis tournament at Arera Club witnessed thrilling upsets. Indian player Sidharth Rawat defeated second seed Oliver Crawford, and Uzbekistan’s Fomin Sergey delivered a stunning performance, defeating third seed Bogdan Bobrov of Russia in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
