Kabul: Two civilians were killed and another injured in an explosion in Shindand town in Afghanistan’s western Herat province Wednesday, police spokesman Abdul Rauf Ahmadi said.

“The blast happened inside a shop at noon, leaving two civilians, including a father and son, dead and another civilian injured,” Ahmadi told Xinhua.

An investigation has been initiated, he added.

Over a dozen people, including nine policemen have been killed and almost the same number injured in bomb blasts and suicide attacks elsewhere in Afghanistan over the past three days.
