Kathmandu : A 56-year-old Nepalese man has died 11 months after he went on a fast-unto-death along with his wife demanding a proper probe into the murder of his teenaged son allegedly by Maoist cadres in 2004.
Nanda Prasad Adhikari died yesterday at Bir Hospital here, hospital Director BB Singh said.
His wife Ganga Maya, 54, who had also been fasting along with him, is struggling for life.
The deceased had been on ‘indefinite hunger strike’ since October 25 last year, demanding a proper investigation into the murder of his 17-year-old son Krishna Prasad Adhikari during the Maoist insurgency.
Adhikaris’ school going son was abducted by the then rebel Maoists from their house in Fujel, Gorkha in 2004. His body was later found in Ratnanagar, Chitwan, 250 km south of Kathmandu.
