Pictures of the radical group using bomb vests strapped to poultry have emerged on social media

London : Islamic State (IS) fighters are using birds strapped with explosives to target the enemy, a media report said on Tuesday.

Pictures of the radical group using bomb vests strapped to poultry have emerged on social media, Mirror Online reported citing a Daily Star report.

The report said the birds are encouraged to wander into enemy territory so that the explosive device can be detonated via remote control.

However, experts believe the bizarre images could be a sign that IS is running out of supplies, according to IANS.

According to a report by British newspaper Daily Star, IS fighters are trying to make their own bombs using mortar shells, gas canisters and fertiliser as their delivery lines leading to Syria and Iraq have been cut. Other pictures have also emerged on social media showing improvised weaponry, the report added.

Photographs of the animal IEDs emerged as the U.S.-led coalition battling ISIS dropped new leaflets over the terror group’s de facto capital Raqqa, vowing to bring ‘freedom’ to those living there.

ISIS holds about a third of Syria and neighboring Iraq in its self-declared ‘caliphate.’

Female suspect behind Turkey blast identified

Ankara  : A suspect has been identified in the suicide bomb attack that killed 32 people in Turkey’s Sanliurfa province, media reported on Tuesday.

The blast took place on Monday in Suruc district near the Iraq border.  According to a report by Turkish daily Haberturk citing officials, one of three female Islamic State (IS) terror group members, who crossed into Turkey to conduct suicide attacks, is suspected to be the perpetrator of the attack.

Most of the dead were university students who were planning to enter Syria to help rebuild Kobane, which was occupied by Islamic State for months before being recaptured by Kurdish forces in January. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on a visit to northern Cyprus, condemned the attack as an “act of terror”. The government has now vowed to increase security at the Syrian border.

There were violent clashes across Turkey on Monday night, as protesters took to the streets to accuse the government of not doing enough to combat the threat of IS.
