New York : The Overseas Friends of Bharatiya Janata Party (OFBJP), who eagerly gathered outside the Waldorf Astoria Hotel here today to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, described him as a great man who is loved by all.
“The enthusiasm now is much more than what it was during his visit last year. There is no objection to his visit here and everyone supports him very much including the Patel community,” OFBJP president Chandrakant Patel told ANI here. When asked if there were any objections whatsoever by the Indian expats here to the Prime Minister’s visit, Rajen Singh, organising general secretary of the OFBJP, said that those who have opposition simply have different political leanings.
He also asserted that the welcome reception by the Indian community in San Francisco will be even grander than the one in New York. Praveen Shastri, a priest of the Sanatan Mandir, New Jersey, and also a member of the OFBJP, said that he had been invited by Prime Minister Modi for his swearing-in ceremony in New Delhi. “A great man like Modi ji faces objection even when he is back (home). So, of course he is bound to face some opposition here. But that does not matter as he has nothing to worry about. Everyone here loves him, especially his BJP supporters here,” Shastri added. Prime Minister Modi landed in New York today from where he headed straight to Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
