Berlusconi fights to the end to keep Senate seat
Rome : Silvio Berlusconi is fighting to the very end, claiming that newly recovered documents from America will exonerate him from a devastating tax fraud conviction even though the trial is over and his guilty verdict has been upheld by Italy’s highest court.
Berlusconi’s latest salvo came 48 hours before the Senate is due to vote on whether to kick him out of Parliament because of the conviction.
The 77-year-old media mogul has said his removal from parliament would amount to a government coup, even though he has no role in the government.
Berlusconi elaborated on the documents later on Monday, an event that had the air of a desperate performance by the master politician aimed at fending off the expulsion vote.
JFK’s secret footage likely to unveil second shooter
Sydney : A Hollywood producer has reportedly come forward with a footage that allegedly proves there was a second shooter involved in former President John F. Kennendy’s assassination. Stephen Bowen from Waterstone Entertainment reportedly got the footage from a television news producer, who kept it hidden for over 40 years, News.com.au reports. Bowen is now trying to sell the footage to the highest bidder, and will also hold private screenings for a number of U.S. TV networks this week, the report added. According to some sources, the historic film will cast doubt on the belief that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone shooter on November 22, 1963 as it shows a guy in the bushes with a gun.
