End of Watch

Two cops and best friends Brian Taylor (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Miguel Zavala (Michael Peña) come across illegal firearms and human trafficking. The cartel behind the crimes begins to plan reprisals against the duo. Zavala’s wife gives birth to their first child and Taylor’s wife Janet gets pregnant. The cops are baited into chasing a criminal and attacked by a gang. Zavala shields Taylor from their bullets as the police backup arrives and the gangsters are killed. At Zavala’s funeral, grief-stricken Taylor can only say, “He was my brother.” Watch this gritty drama thriller for ‘one of the best police movies in recent years’.

 The Departed

In Boston, Irish-American mobster Costello (Jack Nicholson) grooms Sullivan (Matt Damon) to become a mole inside the police force. Simultaneously, Captain Queenan (Martin Sheen) and Sgt Dignam (Mark Wahlberg) assign undercover cop Costigan (Leonardo DiCaprio) to infiltrate Costello’s gang. When the moles become aware of each other’s existence, Sullivan and Costigan desperately try  to discover each other’s true identity before their own covers are blown. Trooper Barrigan shoots Costigan and reveals to Sullivan that Costello had more than one mole in the police. Sullivan kills Barrigan and later at police HQ, Sullivan identifies Barrigan as the mole. After Costigan’s funeral, when Sullivan returns to his apartment, Dignam kills him. The engrossing drama which won many awards is also ranked among the top 10 gangster films.

 Fargo

esperate for money, car salesman Jerry (William Macy) asks criminals Carl and Gaear to kidnap his wife Jean and get a $80,000 ransom from father-in-law Wade. However, Jerry asks Wade for a $1,000,000 ransom. Carl and Gaear kill three people and local cop Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) investigates the crimes. When Wade refuses to hand over the ransom briefcase to Carl, Carl kills Wade. Gaear kills Jean and murders Carl with an axe. Marge arrests Gaear and Jerry. Later, Marge, who is pregnant, and her husband discuss the birth of their child. Watch the dark crime film which won two Academy Awards, a BAFTA and is ranked among the top 100 movies.

 Die Hard 

Cop John McClane attends a party to reconcile with his estranged wife Holly

(Bonnie Bedelia). While he is changing clothes, Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman) and his gang pose as terrorists. Later Gruber admits to using terrorism as a distraction while their real intention is to steal the $640 million in bearer bonds in the vault. Now McClane manages to get in touch with the Los Angeles Police Department Sgt Al Powell (Reginald Vel Johnson) who is sent to investigate and after some incidents, the LAPD surrounds the building. McClane manages to turn the tables on the gang and kill them all one by one. Ranked among ‘the greatest movies of all time’, this taut action film made Willis an action star.

 RoboCop 

In a futuristic world, after cop Murphy (Peter Weller) is killed by criminal Boddicker, the Omni Consumer Products (OCP) corporation chairman and his son Morton decide to revive Murphy as a law enforcer called ‘RoboCop’ to rid the city of its criminal elements. Murphy is unable to kill Boddicker and OCP President Jones reveals his secret directive prevents Murphy from taking action against an OCP executive. Jones expresses his desire to take over OCP and confesses that he had Morton killed. Murphy replays the recording of Jones admitting to Morton’s murder and after the OCP Chairman removes Jones from OCP, RoboCop kills Jones. This smart sci-fi flick, cited as one of ‘America’s most heart-pounding movies’, is ranked among the greatest movies of all time.
