Rudimental at Vh1 Supersonic Club Nights

The first club night series of 2015 witnessed trance legend, Markus Schulz enthralling his fans with his heart thumping electrifying beats. Kick start this monsoon with Rudimental, a UK based drum ‘n’ beat group for Vh1 Supersonic Club Nights. UK’s chart toppers, Rudimental make it difficult to actually pinpoint the right genre of music they belong to, especially when they have trumpet and guitar solos infused into electronic beats. Their album Home debuted number 1 in the UK which was also nominated for a Mercury Prize in 2013. They won several awards including the Brit Award, and the Mobo Award for Best Album. Rudimental with power house of music were a big hit at Live Viacom 18’s Emerge Music Festival early this year and are now all set to tour India’s music loving cities again this June. Poetry on the Big Mic

Are you a poet? Want to share it with the rest of the world? Than The Big Mic is the perfect platform you all poets to showcase their talents. Bring your original verses, and take the stage. The Big Mic is India’s longest running series of open mics dedicated to promoting performing arts. Meghranjani: Monsoon Melodies

The rainy season is richly celebrated in Hindustani music. While there are ragas specific to the monsoon, semi-classical genres of thumri and allied forms such as kajri, sawan, jhoola also express myriad shades of emotions, from pain of separation to the joy of union with the beloved, in the months of Sawan and Bhadon. This concert by Sawani Shende will features traditional repertories of classical and semi-classical compositions celebrating the splendour of the rains. Born in a musical family, Sawani Shende has trained in classical and semi-classical music under Kusum and Sanjeev Shende, her grandmother and father, respectively. When: June 20, 6:30 PM. East India Comedy’s: Greatest Hits

Four of the EIC boys: Sorabh Pant, Sahil Shah, Sapan Verma and Atul Khatri get together to give you some of their best jokes from the last two years. This includes some of the best bits from their shows The Ghanta Awards, Men Are From Bars and Backbenchers. Alliance Francaise@ Prithvi: Cyrano de Bergerac

Cyrano de Bergerac by Jean-Paul Rappeneau (137′) with Gerard Depardieu. The classic and tragic story of Edmond Rostand’s play brought back to the screen. Cyrano tells the tale of the soulful poet/philosopher and expert duelist embodied by a majestic Gerard Depardieu, who loves the fair Roxanne, but is ashamed to woo her because of his huge nose. Instead he writes love letters for slow-witted, but handsome Christian in order to win her hand for him. She falls deeply in love with the author, but doesn’t know they were written by Cyrano.
