Stretch
In this action comedy thriller, after the women he loved dumps him, aspiring actor Stretch (Patrick Wilson) gets addicted to a deadly mix of cocaine and gambling and runs up a huge debt to Mexican gangster Ignacio. To pay off his debts he takes up a job as a limo driver where he befriends receptionist Charlie (Jessica Alba) and she helps by giving him rich clients. To take his mind off his worries he sets up a blind date. After many adventures, using his intelligence, Stretch manages to overcome his debt problem. Later, at the diner, Stretch realises that his blind date is none other than Charlie.
Valentine’s Day
Reed (Ashton Kutcher) proposes to Morley (Jessica Alba), but she leaves him. Kate (Julia Roberts) is rushing home.
Julia (Jennifer Garner) falls for Dr Harrison (Patrick Dempsey) who is married to Pamela (Katherine LaNasa). Edison (Bryce Robinson) is one of Julia’s students. Edison’s grandparents Edgar (Héctor Elizondo) and Estelle (Shirley MacLaine) are facing issues. Kara (Jessica Biel) hates V-Day parties. Liz (Anne Hathaway) dates Jason (Topher Grace) who is shocked that Liz is also working as a phone sex operator to pay off a $100,000 student loan. Later: Morley tries to call Reed, but he has started a relationship with Julia, Kate is doing the long travel back home to meet her son Edison, Pamela leaves Dr Harrison, Edgar forgives Estelle, Kara becomes interested in Kelvin (Jamie Foxx) and Jason reconciles with Liz.
The Eye
Blind violinist Sydney (Jessica Alba) undergoes a cornea transplant and gains eyesight. But she sees visions of fires and can see people who have passed away. To unravel the mystery, she and her friend Paul (Alessandro Nivola) travel to Mexico, where the cornea donor Ana came from. Ana’s mother speaks of an industrial accident that Ana had foretold and Ana hanged herself since she was unable to stop the accident. As they head home, Sydney sees the little girl from her vision. Sydney and Paul save everyone after convincing them to leave their vehicles by claiming that there is a bomb in the bus. Following a freak accident, the gas tank explodes and glass shards pierce Sydney making her blind again.
Good Luck Chuck
When Chuck refuses to kiss a Goth girl called Anisha (Sasha Pieterse) she places a curse on him that every single woman he sleeps with, will break up with him. Years later, Chuck (Dane Cook) becomes a successful dentist and has a best friend Stu (Dan Fogler). True to the curse every woman he gets intimate with, leaves him and Chuck falls in love with biologist Cam (Jessica Alba). After they break-up, Chuck tracks down Anisha, who is now married, to break the curse. As Anisha pulls a pin out of a voodoo doll and breaks the curse, Chuck finally gets the girl of his dreams. This romantic comedy was the second-highest grosser at the US BO in its opening weekend.
Fantastic Four
Dr Richards (Ioan Gruffudd) and friend Ben (Michael Chiklis) are working for Dr Doom (Julian McMahon) and team
up with Susan (Jessica Alba) and her brother Johnny (Chris Evans). Following an accident, Richards can stretch his body like rubber, Susan can become invisible and generate force shields, Johnny can engulf himself in fire and fly and Ben becomes a rock-like creature with superhuman strength. Von Doom gets disfigured and plots revenge against them. On Brooklyn Bridge, Ben, Richards, Susan and Johnny prevent a mishap and are now called the Fantastic Four: Richards is Mr Fantastic, Susan becomes Invisible Woman, Johnny the Human Torch and Ben becomes the Thing. They manage to overcome Dr Doom. This superhero action flick with its special effects was a massive hit and led to a sequel.
