Whether it’s a diet or loyalty, the adage goes ‘once a cheater always a cheater’! And that’s precisely the writing on the mural with Italian masks, nattily reflected on a mirror, that welcomes you to the Cheaters, a spanking new restaurant by young and enterprising Visheshh Jatiaa.
Quirkiness permeates the place with a wall of snakes on ladders, a fake id wall and jenga pillar while the food–American, Mexican and Continental – though in a limited selection is enough to rev up your curiosity. The grilled dishes are actually made on tandoor to lend a smoky flavour.
The Sting from the Cheaters Signature cocktails combines the odd couple of spiced rum with pineapple or Satte pe Satte where aam panna iced tea plays Draupadi to five white spirits!
Despite leaning on the current trend of constant innovation, the food curated by Chef Mikhail Shahani and Chef Santosh Gawali have maintained the authenticity of the American diner. Be it the moist Baked Camembert cheese or the scrumptious Mexican bean burger topped with coleslaw, guacamole, habanero, salsa, chipotle mayo and cheese on a crunchy patty, each is a winner.
Carnivores can enjoy Chicken shish taouk with cucumber labneh and tabbouleh salad, Chermoula marinated chicken, Pepper crusted filet mignon, or Chargrilled cilantro and lemon rubbed prawns.
Served with a side of house fries and salad, you can choose your veggies and starch from among potato or herb rice.
Don’t skip the succulent steaks, especially the Pesto rubbed paneer steak with garlic cream sauce and Cajun spiced paneer Quesadillas.
Banoffee Pie made it to the finale with its sweet creaminess and crunchy bits. Worth checking out!
