London: Two in three working women believe they can “have it all” by balancing a career with sparing enough time to spend with their family, a new survey has found.

Balancing work with family life is the most important factor for women to be happy at work, more important than even a promotion or a generous salary, according to the survey.

“The number of women who consider a high salary as an indicator of success has fallen 13 per cent in the last decade,” Ngaire Moyes, of the professional online networking site LinkedIn, which conducted the survey, said.

Around 40 per cent of working women surveyed admitted that juggling family life is their biggest challenge.

Three-quarters (76 per cent) women said they wish for more flexible working in office, the Daily Express reported.

The call for more flexible working was echoed internationally by nine out of every 10 of the 5,000 women questioned.

Employers who allow flexible working for staff such as working part-time or from home were considered the most important determinant of the “success of the next generation of professional women”.
