IIT Bombay’s tribute to Indian Army gets duly acknowledged

Just a week earlier, the Indian army were in the news for been asked to work at the World Culture Festival – where images of Indian Army helping in building bridges over the river Yamuna went viral and later the hosts received flak from politicians and renowned personalities over the misuse and so-called dis-respect to the Indian Army.

However, another instance of an effort by the National Service Scheme (NSS) students at the IIT Bombay – celebrating the National Defence Day – had gone unnoticed till then.

On 2 March, 2016, the NSS student’s wing of the Bombay IIT created a facebook page, with 10 thought-provoking and inspiring posts based on the lives of the Indian Army personnel, as a tribute to these selfless citizens.

The post in general received 98 likes as of 15 March, but more importantly, one among the 98 was the by the Indian Army itself on 6 March, which led the post go viral on the net on the following day.

The shared post on the ADGPI – Indian Army page has received over 32,700 likes so far, and 284-odd comments from visitors.
