Mumbai: A mix of actors, artists, authors, directors and publishers will be part of the second edition of the four-day arts and entertainment festival ‘Wassup Andheri!’ starting Thursday, an organiser said.

Organised by city-based F5 Advertainment, the festival hosted at the huge grounds in Andheri in northwest Mumbai is aimed at providing entertainment to the suburban population.

Most popular art and culture festivals like the recently concluded Kalaghoda Arts Festival and the Worli Festival take place in south Mumbai.

“We were overwhelmed by the reactions of guests and participants during the first edition and had promised to return in a bigger, better avatar. We owe it to the suburb which has been a focal point for the entertainment industry not only locally but nationally,” said Ajay Modgil, founder and chief executive officer of F5 Advertainment.

Filmmakers Sudhir Mishra, Anurag Basu, Vikramaditya Motwane, senior journalist and author S. Hussain Zaidi, costume designer Niharika Khan, screenwriter Sanjay Chauhan, actors Amrita Raichand, Rajat Kapoor, hair stylist Adhuna Akthar, author Amish Tripathi and many others will take centre stage at the fest.

The list of events includes workshops, street plays, book readings and many other activities.

The festival will also display rare art pieces and paintings by sculptors and artists from across the country. Over 15 large installations will be on display, along with 50 paintingsa and photographs.

Works of well-known artists like Arzan Khambatta, Sangeeta Singh, Manasi Manjrekar, Avantika Mathur, Chandrakant Ganacharya, Prakash Bal Joshi, Amisha Mehta and others will be exhibited during the festival.
