The war of words between the Chief Ministers of Delhi and Haryana has intensified. Responding to Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar's tweet, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said that he wishes to save lives and not vaccines.
Khattar had accused Kejriwal of playing politics over anti-Covid vaccines, saying the national capital is exhausting its supply too soon while his own state is stretching it over a longer period.
Giving an example of his own state and virtually admitting to rationing of vaccines, Khattar said, "Even we (Haryana) can administer two lakh doses in one day and exhaust our stock. But we know how much stock we are getting and if we keep administering 50,000 to 60,000 doses to people daily, this (stock) will keep going on."
Responding to this criticism, Kejriwal put out a tweet that reads, "Khattar Saheb, only vaccine will save lives. The sooner people get vaccinated, the safer they will be. My aim is to save people's lives and not vaccines."
This has escalated the battle of words between the two chief ministers and Twitterati has grabbed popcorn to watch the drama unfold. Many are supporting Arvind Kejriwal and are criticizing Khattar for suggesting stocking of vaccines instead of supplying them to the citizens.
