The day of love became a day of fear for passengers of a Lion Air flight in Indonesia, when a scorpion was spotted inside a plane on February 14. Passengers onboard the Lion Air flight JT-293 were shocked and frightened to find a scorpion crawling in the luggage cabin of their flight, which was travelling from Indonesia’s province of Riau to Banten. The incident was captured by one of the passengers on camera, who later uploaded it on social media. Have a look at the video.
“When the plane had landed, one passenger was taking their things out of the compartment, that’s when suddenly the scorpion appeared above our seat,” The Jakarta Post quoted a passenger as saying. Lion Air spokesman Danang Mandala Prihantoro on Friday told kompas.com that plane was thoroughly inspected to ensure safety of passengers. “To assure the safety, security and convenience (of passengers) during the flight, the plane was properly examined to eliminate any possible pest threat,” Danang said.
Although video clearly showed that it was a scorpion, Danang was quoted as saying that it was a spider. “Based on our observation of the video, it seems like a spider,” he had said. He also mentioned that the flight was well-prepared and went through all necessary security checks before departure.
