Cancer makes it tough for people mentally and physically for people who are suffering from it. But a breast cancer survivor did not let the ailment define her. Vaishnavi Poovanedran, known on Instagram as Navi Indran Pillai.
Cancer which takes away smiles from people’s faces, but in a series of posts, Vaishnavi spoke of how cancer has robbed many women of looking their best on their wedding day, and that her photo shoot was aimed at helping survivors realise they are bold and beautiful.
Poovanedran in one of her posts wrote, “Cancer treatments have given us a lot of limitations, robbed us of beauty and taken away our confidence. As little girls, we have always dreamt of what our big day will be like and how we would look like as a bride.” Vaishnavi Poovanedran was diagnosed with third stage breast cancer at the young age of 22 in the year 2013. But after a lumpectomy and several sessions of chemotherapy, Navi was declared cancer-free in 2015, but the happiness didn’t last long, as last year-2018- a health check-up revealed that her cancer has returned.
But this news did not break her spirit and she decided to celebrate and become an inspiration for all those suffering from the illness. She recently took Instagram by storm after her bridal photo shoot titled ‘The Bold Indian Bride’ went viral.
