Thane: Kasarvadavli Police arrested two persons for carrying firearms on Sunday. Police confiscated a country-made pistol and a loaded pistol with 12 live cartridges from the duo. The duo was about to sell the weapons and police are looking for the buyers of these arms.
Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Patil of Kasarvadvli Police had received information about the two coming to sell arms at Gaimukh. On July 15, police laid a trap at Gaimukh and arrested the duo.
Police recovered a country-made revolver with four bullets in it and three bullets from the pocket of the first accused, Kashinath Jagannath Kamble, 25. The other accused, identified as Krushna Rampyare Jaiswar alias Raja, 21, residing at Castle Mill,Thane, had a pistol loaded with five bullets.
“We had received an information about these two and accordingly we found them at Gaimukh. They told us they had come to sell the guns. We are looking for the buyers and from where the arms were procured. We will also be investigating whether these two were about to use the arms,” said Patil.
Police have booked them under the Arms Act Section 25(3), and also under the Maharashtra Police Law Act, Section 37(1),(3) and 135.
