Mumbai: Over 7,000 students from across the country will attend the Techfest from December 14-16 at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B). Students will exhibit their projects, creations, models and experiments in technology, physics, artificial intelligence and robotics.
Students interested in innovation will attend the festival to experience technological advancements. Last year’s Techfest witnessed a session with Sophia, the first humanoid robot to get citizenship of Saudi Arabia. This year, the exhibitors include Furhat Robotics-Sweden, B-Human-Germany and Magni, Ubiquity Robotics-USA. Also, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Army will exhibit models in science and technology.
The Robowars competition will witness international teams from Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Iran, Nepal, Bangladesh and India. To promote innovation among young minds, Techfest will host competitions with cumulative prizes worth `51.2 lakh. The fest will host speakers like the Dalai Lama, international life coach Gaur Gopal Das, and Suresh Prabhu, Union commerce minister.
