Forest department has arrested family members of a suspect who is absconding in connection with mysterious death of a tiger in Ratapani forest area in Raisen district. Today, entire forest department team with dog squad launched operation in forest of Ratapani. Chief Conservation of Forests (CCF) Dr SC Tiwari said, “A trap and forest wood have been found in residence of Lala Ram who lives in the same locality. Lala Ram is absconding.
With the recovery of forest wood, prima facie it seems that Lala Ram is a thief but how much his role is in tiger death, it is matter of investigation. “Now we are waiting for post mortem report. It is not yet clear whether someone severed paws of the dead tiger or it was poached for paws only as its skin and fangs — for which tigers are generally poached— were found to be intact so this has shrouded mystery over death,” he added.
In December, 2018, an eight-year-old tiger was found dead with severed paws near Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary in Raisen district. Now looking at the condition of the body of this tiger which has been found on Monday- the department officials is again suspecting black magic. The post mortem report is awaited.
