BHOPAL: Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mansingh Tekam, who had disappeared under mysterious circumstances about two years back, was traced to a lodge at Barwah in Khargone district. He was brought to Bhopal on Friday.
Tekam had been under treatment for depression when he went missing on February 2, 2015. A missing complaint had been filed with Jahangirabad police in this regard.
Congress MLA Phunde Singh too had raised the issue of missing DSP in the Assembly and had demanded that the officer be traced at the earliest.
In fact, the police were tipped off about the whereabouts of the missing DSP from one of its informer. Following the information, a team was rushed to Vishranti Lodge. The DSP was recovered from one of the rooms. Later, the team confirmed his identity with the help of a relative and took him into custody on Thursday night and returned to Bhopal.
The DSP was posted at the police headquarters (Bhopal) when he went missing. The reason behind his sudden disappearance is yet to be established.
On February 2, 2015, DSP Man Singh Tekam of Chandania village in Anuppur district reportedly left Bhopal for Satna and went missing. Before disappearing, Tekam, who was posted in complaint section of the PHQ, had been living in Ahirpura.
