al Table Tennis League, under the auspices of the Mumbai City District Table Tennis Association, at Matunga Gymkhana here on Sunday.

Zubin, a 2nd year student from Mulund college was full on fire as he humbled first Prasad Naik in an action packed tie that went to the wire before the 20- yearold triumphed at 11- 7, 5- 11, 11- 3, 8- 11, 11- 7.

Zubins win was all the more creditable because earlier their seasoned Mahindra Chiplunkar, a former junior national champion, was beaten by the speed and power of junior Ravindra Kotian 8- 11, 11- 6, 5- 11, 6- 11.

After Matunga lost their third tie, when Sumitd Mehta, son for former National champion Kamlesh Mehta lost to another promising junior Shubham Ambre 8- 11, 8- 11, 6- 11. Leading 2- 1 Hindu Gymkhana banked on Zubin getting the better of Ravindra Kotian and he did not disappoint as went on the win at 10- 12, 11- 5, 11- 9,11- 6 to clinch the title after a gap of two years.
