Ujjain : Government Girls Post Graduate Girls Degree College organised youth festival at their campus on Wednesday. More than eight colleges from the division participated in the youth festival. A series of various cultural and co curricular activities were organised on the occasion. Main attraction for the event was singing competition in traditional Hindustani and solo singing.

The festival was inaugurated by college principal Mohammad Ishaq and chief guest corporator Rajni Kotwani. Ankita Verma of Kalidasa Girls College clinched the first place in traditional singing while Aditya Parsai of Advance College and Puja Chauhan of Madhav Science College secured second and third place respectively.

While in solo singing Priyanka Panwar of Vardhman College, Nagda grabbed first place and Aditya Parsai of Advance College and Ankita Verma secured second and third place respectively. Judges for the competition were Dinesh Sharma, Namita Shirke and Sundar lal Malviya. Dr Sandhya Mahajan, Dr Varsha Agrawal and Dr Lokesh Vahne were present on the occasion. Dr Uma Vajapayee conducted the proceedings and Dr Archana Parmar proposed vote of thanks.

Similarly, youth festival was concluded with gusto at Bharatiya College where various colleges of division participated in the festival. College principal Dr Rashmi Sharma and Prof Girish Pandya inaugurated the festival in traditional way. Main attractions for the festival were portrayal of dramas and short plays.

Team of Advance College grabbed the first title in drama category while teams of Bharatiya College and Madhav arts and Business College secured second and third place respectively. Likewise, in short play team of Madhav arts and Business College clinched first place while teams of Navsamwat College and VSIPS Collge secured second and third place respectively.
