Ujjain: Guru Saptami festival was celebrated in the city on Tuesday to mark the 187th birth anniversary of Seer Vijay Rajendra Surishwar. A Varghoda procession was taken out on this occasion. Jain community members in large numbers were present in the procession.The procession was taken out from Gyanmandir located at Nayapura under the aegis of Jain Seers Sanyamratnavijay and Bhuvanratnavijay.

Band and tableaux accompanied the procession. Community women were doing garba while girls were carrying urns on their heads. Gunanuvad meeting was organised at Rangmahal Dharamshala while Seers delivered discourses on this occasion.According to Manoj Bakliwal, Jain Seer Dharamsen Maharaj is arriving in the city on Wednesday. His disciples will accompany him during the arrival. Seer will be accorded welcome at Koyala Phatak at 9 am on Wednesday.Mangal pravachan will be held at Shantinath Digambar Jain temple in Freeganj.
