BHOPAL Satisfied by the progress of work at All India Institute of Medical Sciences ( AIIMS) Bhopal, Union Health secretary VK Pradhan said that the college is ready and the classes will start from September.

he newly constructed medical college found the construction of college building and hostels complete.
He held meeting with senior officers of the state including Principal Secretary Health Praveer Krishna, Principal Secretary medical education Ajay Tirki, Commissioner Urban Administration Sanjay Shukla, Collector Nikunj Srivastava and SP ( South) Anshuman Singh.
The officers reviewed the construction and other facilities at the college.
Pradhan said that they were getting proper support from Minister Babulal Gaur and Mayor Krishna Gaur besides all concerned departments.
He issued instructions for providing 1500 square feet land on the premises for construction of a permanent police outpost.
Prof Kishore Chaudhari informed that AIIMS Bhopal will also conduct MD course in family medicine.
H e informed that as many as 25 faculty members have been selected out of which 8 have even joined the college.
As many as 14 more faculty members will join by September while the remaining will join before commencement of classes.
The selected students will have to report in the college from August 14 for verification of documents and admission.
Mayor Krishna Gaur had visited AIIMS on Friday and reviewed the problem of drainage.
She said since the nullah has not been channelised, the sewage from adjoining areas was accumulating in the AIIMS. She issued instructions to the officers concerned in this regard.
BMC commissioner Rajneesh Singh informed that BMC has resolved the problem of water and drainage in the medical college.
AIIMS administrative officer Sanjay Singh Chauhan informed that almost 90% of the work of college and hostels has been completed.
The students will be given possession in month end after admissions are complete. However, the hospital will start function by March- April next year.
The work of hospital is also going on at war footing.
