Ujjain : Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) will soon turn the property tax system online. The property tax will be collected through online means. UMC also eyes on purchasing vehicles to collect and transport waste under solid waste management scheme.
Mayor Meena Jonwal chaired the maiden Mayor in Council (MiC) meeting here on Monday. She urged for cooperation from all people’s representatives and officials for the development of the city.
Jonwal directed officials to be prepared for the meeting of MiC and Committees and all the cases should be resolved within the time limit. Several decision were taken like online property tax system, vehicle purchase for collection and transportation of waste, appointment of advisor for Smart City Project, development of Shopping Complex on the empty land of old Fire Brigade, building community toilet under Swachha Bharat Abhiyan and different development works at Chakra Tirtha.
The MiC also discussed about the hosting of upcoming Kartik Fair and Atal Sports Meet. The Council also discussed over refuse compactor for waste management project and traffic signal blinkers for Simhastha and security measures. MiC members Satyanarayan CHauhan, Kalawati Yadav, Durga Singh Chaudhary, Aarti Guru, Dr Yogeshwari Rathore, Radheshyam Verma, Manglilal Kadel, Municipal Commissioner Avinash Lavania and others were present.
Health dept reprimanded
Commissioner of Municipal Corporation (CMC) Avinash Lavania and additional commissioner Vishal Singh Chauhan reviewed the Health Department on Monday and reprimanded officials and employees for not working as expected. They expressed anger over employees for not being present at their workplace and not practicing cleaning in the afternoon. Health Inspector Shyamlal Dhawan and Vikram Singh Pandya have been suspended. CMC Lavania directed employees to conduct cleaning of all the wards regularly wearing the uniform. Directives were issued to coordinate with the agency for collection of waste under door-to-door waste collection project.
