Ujjain : Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC) is going to take action against people who let their cattle to stray around the city. Strict legal action will be taken against such cattle owners from August 15.
Irked over the problem of increasing number of stray cattle in the city, Mayor Rameshwar Akhand and Municipal Commissioner Vivek Kshotria chaired a meeting with officials on Thursday and took decisions to execute a plan to make city free from stray cattle. It was decided during the meeting that warning should be issued to cattle owners for removing their cattle from the city before August 15. They should be strictly directed for not releasing their cattle on city streets. In case their cattle are found stray on the streets, strict legal action will be taken against them.
The stray cattle will be released outside the city. UMC will launch a special campaign to make city free from stray cattle. Temporary employees and vehicles will be managed with the help of district and police administration.
