Ujjain : The temple town of Ujjain has started feeling shivering cold as the minimum temperature plummeted to 9.5 degree Celsius, on Sunday. The mercury has recorded steep fall of 5 degree Celsius in last five days.
The pink winter has gripped the city making the citizens to clad in woolen clothes. Usually the nights are colder than the days. The minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded 9.5 degree while the day’s temperature was 31 degree Celsius. The intervening night of Sunday and Monday was observed the coldest night of the season. The cold waves blowing at the speed of 2 km per hour has also added intensity to the cold. According to the meteorological department, the mercury will fall down and the day’s temperature will also go down.
The city street also felt the smell of the winter season. The stalls selling cold specialties like garadu, gajak, sweet potatoes, dry fruits, dates, etc are flooded with the customers. They are the best cold beaters in the winter season. The season is also considered as the best one for providing sufficient nutrients to the body as the digestive system is active. The sale of woolen clothes has hiked suddenly with the arrival of the winter in the city. The Tibbeten Woolen Market on Agar Road and other shops across the city are all set to lure the customers with their fresh season stock.
