Ujjain: Satirists from across the country participated in the 21st Kabada show at Hotel Ashray on Saturday to celebrate the festival of ‘Rangpanchami.’
Comedian Bhuvan Mohini presented a poem on ‘Phaag’ and also rendered the ‘Saraswati Vandana’. Madhulika Pasari and Padmini Rathore caught the attention of the audience with their performance on extra marital affairs as did young poet, Ajesh Ajnabee with his poem Vyom se Om. Shankar Singh Sisodiya presented a satirical account on the dress sense of modern day actors. Mimicry artist, Himanshu Bavandar left the audience in fit of laughter with his witty take on different situations. Johny Bairagi also won great applause from audience for his performance. The main attraction of the programme was Rajkumar and his puppet Rancho.
Many prominent individuals of Ujjain enjoyed the programme including Superintendent of police, MS Verma, Prateek Sonwalkar and SS Saluja. Guests also honored the invited poets with mementos. Event compere Shailendra Vyas welcomed the guests on stage to the tune of a Kabada song. Director of the Kabada committee, Sumit Narang, Praveen Vashishth, Kailash Maheshwari, Vivek Jaiswal, Shakeel Khan, Navin Balsara and Paresh Neema offered garlands made of fake notes to guests. Welcome speech was delivered by Lovely Lohiya and a vote of thanks was proposed by Shilpi Agrawal.
