Jewellery and cash worth over Rs 2 lakh stolen in latest incident
Ujjain: Both the prime security agencies of railways seem to be ineffective in stopping onboard thefts of goods of passengers during their journey.
Almost every day incidents of thefts are being reported from trains at Ujjain railway station and around. Passengers are feeling unsafe on trains.
Reportedly a theft of over Rs 2 lakh occurred in Jabalpur Somanath Express around Nagda station. According to information, Dayaldas, son of Hiranand Ladnani, a resident of Patel Nagar, Ujjain lodged a report of his missing purse at Nagda station. He was returning from Junagarh (Gujarat) after attending a marriage with family.
According to GRP Ujjain, there was Rs 32, 000 cash and jewellery worth over Rs 1.50 lakh in the purse which was stolen by some miscreant.
