Ujjain: A local court on Sunday afternoon sent the accused of abduction, rape and murder of a 5-year-old girl to judicial remand. Mahakal police presented the accused Shiva Maratha (19) in the JMFC court, but did not press for any police remand as evidences related to the case were already recovered. He was taken to the judicial premises behind Vikramaditya Bhavan (Kothi Palace) in tight security as some social organisations had planned to beat him black and blue. However, no such incident occurred.

He was handed over to the Bhairavgarh Central Jail for judicial custody. Police said several offences have been registered against the accused in various police stations. He is druggy and used to watch porn films. His father was also reportedly a habitual criminal. Meanwhile, a delegation of the BJP comprising MLAs Paras Jain and Mohan Yadav, mayor Meena Jonwal, city unit president Vivek Joshi, Ashok Prajapat and others visited the shanty of the deceased which is located near Bhukhi Mata Mandir. They strongly condemned the incident and also assured to extend full support.

A token money in the form of assistance fund was also handed over to the father of the deceased. On the other hand, several social organisations will stage a demonstration at 10:30 am in front of the collectorate to press their demand to provide maximum possible financial assistance to the parents of the deceased and also to hang the accused as early as possible. Akhil Bharatiya Balai Samaj local unit president Satish Sindal informed that members of different SC organisations will take part in the demonstration.
