Ujjain: Kanha Vatika will host the pre wedding rituals “Mehendi” and “Sangeet” ceremony of the Divyang mass wedding function today. The main wedding event will be conducted at the Stanford School premises on Tuesday at 10:30 am. Later, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will bless the couples. Minister of Social justice and empowerment, Thawar Chand Gehlot will preside over the event.
Collector Sanket Bhondve convened a meeting at Kanha Vatika to discuss the final preparations of the event with officials including Ujjain Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Ashish Singh, Additional Collector, Basant Kurre, Additional divisional magistrate (ADM), Narendra Suryanshi, Additional Superintendent of Police, Vinayak Verma and others. The collector directed all the officials to wear traditional the headgear (Safa) on the day of wedding. He later conducted a meeting with “Anandaks”.
Officials of Ujjain Administration have been designated different responsibilities for efficient management of the event. ADM, Narendra Suryavanshi, regional transport officer, Manoj Tehnaguriya and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Santosh Upadhyay have been assigned responsibilities of security at the wedding venue, conveyance facility for brides and grooms and parking facility for guests and attendees. Additional Superintendent of Police, Vinayak Verma, will handle Bands, carriages and e-rickshaw facilities. SS Rawat of Zila Panchayat will ensure that couples get all benefits including cash and gift items and other schemes at the time of the wedding. Sub Divisional Magistrate Kshitij Sharma, CEO of Ujjain Development Authority, Abhishek Dubey, and executive engineer of Public works department, Rajendra Kumar Joshi, SR Solanki, RK Vadkar, RK Shrivastav, Ashok Mehta, PS Kanel, Rajnish Sinha, SR Siddiki, Mahesh Pandey, Preeti Chouhan and other officials have also given different responsibilities.
Many individuals and organizations have registered as ‘Anandaks’ at the events. These ‘Anandaks’ have made monetory and material donations for the event. Energy Minister, Paras Jain, Member of Parliament, Chintamani Malviya, MLA, Mohan Yadav and Anil Firoziya, UDA President, Jagdish Agrawall will donate money and gift items to the couples. In addition to this, the All India Kirar community has made donations to the tune of Rs 1.01 lakh towards the event. Ujjain Red Cross Society which has donated Rs 1 lakh for the event will also provide flower garlands and bouquets.
