Ujjain: Officials asked to prioritise issues of public interest

Ujjain: At a meeting held by the ‘Jila Vikas Samnvay and Nigrani Samiti’ (DISHA) on Sunday at Simhastha Fair Authority office, Member of Parliament, Chintamani Malviya and Union Minister, Thawarchand Gehlot issued stern warnings to officials that all work regarding public interest should be done on a priority basis. The common man, they said, should not suffer on any account.

They analysed construction of toilets under the cleanliness drive during the meeting. The meeting stated that 606 gram panchayats have been free from open defecation out of a total of 609. Urban areas were also analyzed by the officials.

Zila panchayat president, Mahesh Parmar, MLA Mohan Yadav and Anil Phiroziya, collector Sanket Bhondve, SS Rawat and other officials were present.

During the meeting, Malviya insisted on the setting up of a speedy call center to resolve issues faced by the common man. Minister Gehlot said people should be informed of all Union Government scheme. Malviya cautioned officials of the electricity department that there should be a concrete reason for every disconnection done so that people are not troubled.
