Ujjain: Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) announced higher secondary (HSS) and high school (HS) results on Friday.
A total of 16523 regular students appeared in HS examinations from Ujjain district comprising 9552 boys and 6971 girls. 10860 students passed the examinations. Girls took the top slots and improved their performance level as 73.82 per cent girls passed, way higher than 59 per cent for boys. The performance of private students was lower with only 14.74 per cent students passing out of a total 9673. Girls also fared better among private students as 18.49 per cent girls passed, compared to only 12.77 per cent amongst boys.
10715 regular students appeared in the HSS examinations with 6099 boys and 4613 girls. Out of the total students who appeared for the exams, 85.74 per cent students passed. In the higher secondary section, girls performed better than boys with 91.37 per cent girls passing, while only 81.48 per cent boys could pass their 12th examinations Performance of private students in class 12th was lower than their regular counterparts as only 43.26 percentage of total students passed with 38.32 per cent amongst boys and 53.19 per cent girls.
Government schools improve results
Government higher secondary school, Madhav Nagar showed a marked improvement with 100 per cent results in the high school board examinations while 88.50 per cent students passed in the higher secondary board examinations.
At government high school Chintaman Jawasia, 91.30 per cent students passed the HS board examinations with 70 per cent students securing 1st division marks. Principal Amitoj Bhargava said the performance had improved over last year. At government higher secondary school, Talod, 92 per cent students passed 10th board examinations, while results for 12th board were 100 per cent.
