Ujjain: A goon stabbed a woman vendor in broad day light over a money issue during a weekly market (haat) located in Budhwariya area on Wednesday.
According to Chimanganjmandi police, notorious goon of the area Deepak alias Nana created dispute with greengrocer Lakshmibai on asking Rs 500 as extortion money.
On denying by the victim, the goon started manhandling with her and took out his knife and stabbed her. The sudden assault on the woman created ruckus and stampede in the market.
On being informed the police reached at the spot and captured the fleeing goon. After recording the statements of the victim the police registered an FIR against the goon.
