Ujjain: Court of special judge Dr Shubhra Singh sentenced one Heeralal Sastiya, the then accountant at Arada village situated government higher secondary school to five years rigorous imprisonment.
Dhar district media in charge Archana Dangi informed that Sastiya was found guilty under Section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and other sections. Court also slapped a fine of Rs 12,000 on him.
Dangi informed that Sastiya demanded Rs 8,000 bribe from the complainant Fauzdar Singh, son of Kadamsingh Jamod, a resident of Kharbat village in Dahi tehsil of Dhar district. Fauzdar Singh submitted application before Indore Lokayukta on October 23, 2015.
In the complaint, he informed that he was posted as assistant teacher at Badpura Kharbat village situated government new primary school. He added that Sastiya was demanding bribe from him for releasing his arrears.
Failing to fulfill his demand, Sastiya asked complainant that he can pay him money once he gets the arrears amount in his account. On October 16, 2015, complainant got his arrears amount of Rs 89,190 in his account.
On October 22, 2015 Sastiya once again met Fauzdar Singh and asked him to fulfill his demand or he will not release his August salary.
Upset over this complainant on next day lodged his complaint with Indore Lokayukta. Based on his complaint, team of special establishment trapped accused red-handed.
