Ujjain: Directors of GPIL held for duping people of Rs 23 cr

Two persons were arrested by the Economic offences wing (EOW) officials on Thursday. According to the officials the accused swindled money of innocent people on the pretext of providing them multiple times returns on their investment. They used to invariably run away and relocate after collecting money in droves.

EOW SP Rajesh Raghuvanshi told Free Press that Nepal Singh Naruka, a resident of village Kulawada and Mahesh Sharma, a resident of village Kharet located near Ingoriya were arrested. An FIR against the duos was registered on December 29, 2018 under sections 409,420 and 34 of the IPC.

According to police the accused are directors of Gloriya Property India Limited (GPIL) who duped innocent people by depositing their money in various schemes of the company with a guarantee of multiple times returns on their investment.
After duping crores of rupees the accused closed the company’s office and ran away.

Victim Hiralal, Chandabai, Kalabai, Sumanbai, Badrilal and others lodged a police complaint and afterward the police registered an FIR against the accused. On a tip-off the accused were arrested from Nanakheda bus stand. According to the police the accused are involved in duping an amount of Rs 23 crores. The accused are being interrogated.
