Ujjain: After registering thumping victory across the country and in the Ujjain constituency BJP’s local unit took out a triumph rally on Friday. The winning candidate Anil Firojia also attended the rally after offering prayers to lord Mahakal. Firojia after losing his assembly election in near past took on his close rival of Congress Babulal Malviya in battle for general election and defeated him by a record margin of 365637 votes in the Modi wave. On Friday, Firojia went to Mahakal temple and paid obeisance and around 9 am the rally began from the temple premises in which Firojia was in an open jeep with MLA Paras Jain and Mohan Yadav, outgoing MP Dr Chintamani Malviya, Jagdish Agrawal, mayor Meena Jonwal, party presidents Shyam Bansal (rural) and Vivek Joshi (urban) and other party members.
BJP women wing also participated in the procession. His mother Savitri Firojia and wife Sandhya Firojia were also the part of the rally. Overjoyed senior leaders and party workers danced to the tune of drum beaters and DJs at many places in the rally. The rally was welcomed at many places across the city by denizens. Charged with huge victory party workers were waving the party’s flag and raised slogans praising the denizens.
The rally traversed through Gudri Chauraha, Gopal Mandir, Kanthal, Nai Sadak, Daulatganj Chauraha, Malipura, Dewasgate Chauraha, Chamunda Mata Mandir Chauraha, Tower Chowk, Shahid Park and concluded at party’s divisional headquarters at Lok Shakti Bhavan where a gratitude meeting was also arranged. Addressing the meeting, Firojia dedicated his victory to the work done by party workers. He said only cadre-based organisation can register such a huge victory which the BJP attained across the country. Divisional organising secretary Pradeep Joshi and other leaders also spoke. Suresh Giri conducted the proceedings and Ashok Kataria proposed a vote of thanks.
