Ujjain : Ujjain Development Authority ( UDA) will provide 30,000 houses to urban homeless people at cheaper rates in next three years. New schemes will be launched soon for this purpose. 2.5 percent supervision charges will be taken for the construction of houses for low income group people.
These decisions were taken during a meeting of UDA board of directors, chaired by Divisional Commissioner- cum- UDA chairman Dr Ravindra Pastor here on Tuesday. Several other important decisions were also taken during the meeting.
Homeless people residing in the city will soon get houses on low cost. Go- cart and vegetable vendors, labourers, carpenters, barbers, masons, plumbers and other small traders will be provided houses at cheaper rates.
Homeless people will be provided the houses under Chief Minister Welfare Schemes. New schemes will be prepared with the partnership of farmers. Dr Pastor directed officials to adopt low cost technology to reduce the cost of houses.
Provisions will be made to recover installments for houses on weekly basis from small traders. Instead of 10 percent, the UDA will take only 2.5 percent supervision charges for low income group people. Officials and engineers will be sent to study those institutes where the techniques to develop houses on low cost are available.
The UDA will also aid homeless people to get loan from banks. Directives were issued to demarcate proposed residential areas in Ujjain City Master Plan 2021 and the lands of villages located on outer and inner ring roads should be included.
The UDA will also build a high- rise building. Collector Kavindra Kiyawat, Municipal Commissioner Avinash Lavania, forest officer Padampriya Balakrishnan, PHE superintending engineer VK Tiwari, MPEB KK Sharma, UDA CEO and others were also present at the meeting.
