The Dahisar police have arrested two wanted men for an attempt to murder a bar owner.

Rashmikant Vyas, the complainant, was provided police protection after he told the cops on December 15, 2011 that the

re was a threat to his life. The incident took place on December 23, 2011, when three armed men with a country- made revolver and live cartridges had gone to Punjab Hub bar and restaurant at the Western Express Highway in Dahisar ( East).

They fired on Vyas, the bar owner, but all the bullets got misfired. After a month of the incident, the Dahisar police caught Amit Devanand Raut, 22 years on January 23, 2012. He was arrested at his residence in Dahisar. Satya alias Satish Chandrakant Shinde has also been arrested on the January 24, 2012.

He too was caught at his residence in Borivali ( East).

During the time of the incident, around 12.15 am, the policemen assigned for Vyasalt39 protection and two other cops on patrolling duty noticed a group of shooters entering the bar. The policemen pounced on the shooters and managed to disarm two of them, Uday Swaroopsingh Gadhwali, 26 years and Manoj Kantilal Medhe, 24 years. Meanwhile, Raut managed to run away.

” After interrogation, we learnt that Satish Chandrakant Shinde alias Satya had given the three a contract to kill Vyas,” ACP Dahisar Division Sunil Deshmukh said.

The motive behind the act was a previous fight when Shinde who wanted to speak to one of the female singers, but the staff did not allow him to do so. Shinde and Vyas got into an argument which led to a fight. Vyas was booked in the case. When Vyas walked out of the Borivali metropolitan court on bail, in the same month, Shinde and his aides assaulted him with swords and hockey sticks.

All the four accused have been booked under Section 307 ( attempt to murder). The police have seized a country made alt39 Kattaalt39 revolver from the accused.
