Ujjain : Self titled first female Shankaracharya, Sadhvi Trikal Bhawanta has demanded separate bathing ghats during the Shahi Snana (Royal Baths) of the upcoming Simhastha fair.

Organising a press conference during her first visit to the city, she interacted with the local media and answered their queries, here on Wednesday. Interacting with the media she said for long the women in this country have been suppressed and now the time has come the male dominated community, to healthily accept our existence.

The 50-year-old Sadhvi, who hails from Allahabad, has remained in trends since she created a new Akhada only for female Sadhvis and declared herself the Shankaracharya of the same in Kumbh Mela of Nashik. The Pari Akhada, is said to be union of 10 women Khalsas namely- Shabri, Meera, Durga, Gita, Saraswati, Ritambhara, Laxmi, Aprajita, Chamunda, and Bhairavi. She also landed in altercations with Gyandas Maharaj at the Nashik Kumbh, when Gyandas allegedly tried to snatch mike from her. The issue got so intense that Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadanavis had to intervene.

Interacting with the press persons she said, our Akhada has already sent letter of our demands to the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and today she also handed her demands to the Mela Authority Chairman Divakar Natu. She demanded equal rights to the Pari Akhada as given to 13 other Akhadas, with the same facilities, at her proposed location of Ankpat road. During a reminder of the Nashik events by a press person, she termed the Gyandas Maharaj as registered hooligan, who has been licensed by the government to create nuisance. The man has been spreading rumours about me and needs to be treated by law.

Speaking about the womanhood she said, the times have changed now… I don’t understand why the male dominated community is taking us as bitter pill… on one stance they worship different goddesses and a woman Akhada is hard to be ingested by them.

She said if Dharma has to be saved, women must get equal rights. On being asked why isn’t she getting support of senior woman ministers such as Uma Bharati and Sadhvis such as Ritambhara.

She said, everyone is motive driven these days, they have a fear they are going to lose what they have, by aiding us, but in future she hopes getting support by them. She also welcomed the creation of Kinnar Akhada, saying they have been here for ages and they have also same rights, saying she supports them. Concluding she said she hopes the government is going to get positive or she will follow legal procedure.
