Ujjain : On day one of the new academic session the traffic department started the drive against the vehicle that was not abiding by the safety norms. On day one the traffic department checked 30 school transport vehicles.

Traffic TI YA Masih said, despite the fact we have circulated notice to the schools to form a committee and urged school transport vehicles to abide by the safety norms. They had the entire summer vacation to make changes for the safety of school children however they had failed to do that. He further told that two traffic police team conducted drive at St Mary School near Dewas road while the other team checked the vehicles at St Paul School near Aagar road.

Deputy Superintendent of Traffic police Vijay David said, “Our main objective is to check whether the school transport vehicles are overloading. He further added, “We have seized 16 autos which were ferrying school children overloading.” Also on Wednesday we carried out a drive and caught hold of those who were violating the safety norms. We will be taking strict action and no one will be spared who is not following the safety norms.
