Ujjain : 640 temporary staff members of MP Electricity Board working at 7 towns of the district are on the verge of unemployment. They have been ousted from the job by the contractors of the company by telling that only ITI diploma holders would be employed. Employees met Minister Paras Jain, Member of Parliament Chintamani Malviya and MLA Anil Firozia and narrated their plight.
Sumit Viswakarma and RP Chaudhary told that private companies Prime One, Ratan Imperial and Balaji Computer have been working under MPEB in the rural areas of Ujjain, Ghattia, Barnagar, Tarana, Nagda-Khachrod and Mehidpur for the last 2 years. Contractors said that only ITI diploma holders would work for the company then. Perturbed over the decision of the contractors, employees working for the MPEB for the last 20 years are on the verge of losing their job. Staff submitted a memorandum before Collector Kavindra Kiyawat and demanded that old employees should given rebate and should be kept in the job.
