Ujjain: The Neelganga police arrested a tantric for raping a married woman and duping the couple with Rs 10, lakhs on pretext of doubling their money. The accused tantric has been identified as Ramgopal, a resident of Ratlam located industrial area.
The tantric used to create an illusion of doubling the money by showering double the money he was presented with. Ramgopal had been duping public on pretext of doubling their money, using tantra. Whole incident was revealed when a local man, posted with the Polytechnic College, as Class-III employee became the target of Ramgopal and lost Rs 10 lakh to him.
Investigation officer SI Pradipkumar Rai, informed that the victim was told by his acquaintance about so called magical powers of Ramgopal, that he can double the money using tantra. The victim quickly became attracted to him and started visiting his meetings. Recently he organised one such money doubling session of Ramgopal at this Gadhapuliya, located house and had invited many other persons of Christian community to which he belongs. The victim couple and many others in the session filled a bag with Rs 10 lakh, so that it can be doubled. Performing rituals Ramgopal had told the couple to open the bag after two months, and he will get Rs 1 crore. But after opening the bag they found nothing, realising they had been duped. Wife of the victim also complained that the tantric also exploited her physically during their time of contact. SI Rai said, a case under Section 376, 420, 406 and 506 of the IPC was registered against Ramgopal and his aide Kavita. The police are interrogating the accused for further details.
