Ujjain : On the Sixth day of weeklong symposium being held in the memory of Padma Bhushan Dr Shivmangal Singh ‘Suman’, musical presentations were given on the poems of Suman Ji at Bharatiya Gyanpeeth College on Thursday.
Entire hall got resonant with the sounds of clapping as music maestro Pandit Avdhendu Sharma stuck chords on the famous poem of Suman ji, ‘Chalna Humara Kaam Hai’. Acting president of Rajasthan Cricket Board, Ameen Pathan presided over the function and delivered lecture on the topic ‘Harmony is the country’s biggest need’. Pathan said, “We are unable to explain the importance of life to the present young generation as every week one youngster is committing suicide…we need to educate our youngsters and need to explain them the importance of life then only our country could become ‘Vishwa Guru’ (Teacher of the World).”
Function was concluded with the presentation of the famous Bhajan of Pandit Sharma ‘Jaise suraj ki garmi se’ which gave Sharma recognition in entire country. Sharma also presented creations ‘Shambhu Avinashi’ and Vaishnav Bhajans of Suman ji in his
presentations. President of the institution, Krishnamangal Singh Kulshreshta gave welcome speech while principal of Bhartiya College, Neelam Mahadik conducted the function.
Shilpa’s The Great Indian Diet book to show healthy weight loss
Actress-entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty is excited about launching her book “The Great Indian Diet” in the presence of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan among others. The actress says it will guide people on healthy weight loss.
“I feel grateful that I have a great panel of celebs who are willing to come it’s very sweet of them,” Shilpa told IANS.
“The Great Indian Diet” is co-authored by Luke Coutinho.
With her offering, Shilpa hopes to shine the spotlight on several taboos associated with Indian food.
“Everybody is so weight-obsessed that they forget about focusing on health. That’s what the book brings to focus,” she added.
Fit and fabulous Shilpa, who had put on several pounds after giving birth to her son Viaan, says she lost it all in just four and a half months.
“It was not easy for me to lose it. I just think if I could put on weight like any other human being. I had my insecurities, that’s why I decided to write this book. Every other person used to ask me how did you lose weight,” the 40-year-old said.
“I started doing yoga and started eating healthy and I lost 32 kg in four and half months. If you put your mind to it, it’s not difficult,” she added.
