Thursday. Economic Offences Wing ( EOW) filed a case against Reddy, the then managing director of the corporation, AK Gupta, the then assistant manager, RC Shrivastava, general manager, RG Gupta, the then manager ( finance), Amar Singh Chauhan, the then regional manager of headquarters, US Sisodiya, the then regional manager, Indore, Gopi Chand Gangrade, the then junior accountant and four seeds supplying firms and societies.

The case relates to supply of poor quality seeds to the corporation in the year 2002 and 2003. Investigations revealed that corporation officials issued tenders for purchasing seeds of gram, peas, Masoor and linseed, without getting approval from the state government. ‘Decision was taken in high level meeting on August 2, 2002 to purchase seeds but before this, the corporation officials had initiated tender process,’said investigating officers.

The corporation paid Rs 3.45 crore to firms m/ s Narmada Beej Utpadak Sahkari Samiti, Babai, Hoshangabad, Mahadhan Seeds Pvt Ltd, Indore, M/ s Pragtisheel Kisan Utpadak Sahkari Samiti, Kurwai, Vidisha, M/ s Pawan Seeds Pvt Ltd, Indore for supplying different kinds of seeds.

The audit report in the purchase revealed that the corporation had stock of seeds despite that the officials purchased seeds from private firms.
