The first ever courtesy visit of State BJP president ( Prabhat Jha) to the house of two local veteran leaders of the Congress, on Saturday evening, has given rise to different speculations in both BJP and Con

gress circles.

Jha halted here twice on Saturday. First, he came here in the morning and left for Ratlam to take part in an organizational programme there. Secondly, he returned back from Ratlam to take a night halt in the city so that he can proceed to Shajapur to take part in the partys SC Morcha State executive committee meeting. During stay here on Saturday night, Jha also took part in the extended meeting of the City BJP. But, the BJP state president left every body in surprise when he expressed his desire to meet local Congress leaders. Before he could name any of them, local unit chief Anil Jain Kaluheda referred to the names of Mahaveer Prasad Vasishtha and Manohar Bairagi, to which Jha gave his consent immediately.

Then, the local office- bearers fixed tea party with these leaders of the Opposition party.

Except Jha, rest all including those Congress veterans were in the state of utter confusion that why the State BJP president is coming to their house and what would be his agenda of the meeting. ‘I started presuming whether Jha wants me to talk on any political issue or not and at one moment I got indulged in double thinking before his arrival; but nothing was like that afterward,’seemingly happy Vasishtha told reporters.

Jha then drove to Mahashweta Nagar located residence of Manohar Bairagi.

To receive him at the door, Bairagi and his family members were already present there in waiting.

Till then he had also made several arrangements for Jha, who though took tea only. ‘During my 40- yearold career, I had never seen such a courtesy or even a gesture which Jha shown on Saturday,’the glad Bairagi quipped.

Vasishtha and Bairagi are considered to be two opposite poles of Congress; yet Jha preferred them to meet.

Jha knew both of them since the time when he happened to be State media incharge of BJP during the regime of chief minister Digvijay Singh.

Vasishtha is a known Singh loyalist whereas Bairagi was a close aide of VC Shukla; though he now enjoys good rapport with late Arjun Singhs son Ajay Singh.
