The Social Service Branch ( SS Branch) of the Crime Branch claimed to have busted an international prostitution racket by rescuing 36 girls who were being taken to Dubai to be pushed into flesh trade.

T

his has been their biggest catch this year, they said.

A special team of S. S Branch headed by deputy commissioner of police B. G. Shekhar ( Enforcement) rescued these women from the Delhi International Airport on Wednesday. The women have been brought back to Mumbai and after a medical test at the GT Hospital will be taken to a rescue shelter home.

” One of the victims had lodged a complaint with us that she has been induced on the pretext of dance performance to Gulf countries.

After detail investigation and follow up we succeeded in rescuing the girls from pimps,” said Shekhar.

Assistant commissioner of police, Firoz Patel said, ” The women were being taken there on a three- month work visa stating that they are artists who dance in hotels.

Most of the women are aged between 20- 25 and none of them are minors.

Some of them are from Hyderabad and other states, but nearly 27 of them are from Mumbai.”
